World Cup 11th – 14th June Games Trading Watchlist

The opening round of World Cup fixtures gives us a mix of cautious tournament openers, strong favourites, and games that may only become interesting once they are live.

This is not about forcing trades before kick-off. The aim is to identify which games are worth watching, which ones may suit certain trade types, and which ones are best left alone.

Games Outside My Trading Window

I am not planning to trade games that kick off between 12:00am and 9:00am UK time.

DateGameUK Kick-offStatus
Sat 13 JuneUSA v Paraguay2:00am🔴 No trade window
Fri 12 JuneSouth Korea v Czech Republic3:00am🔴 No trade window
Sun 14 JuneHaiti v Scotland2:00am🔴 No trade window
Mon 15 JuneIvory Coast v Ecuador12:00am🔴 No trade window

Some of these games may still be interesting on paper, but they do not fit my planned trading window.

Main Watchlist Notes

Netherlands v Japan 🟢

This is the best-looking live trading game from the opening fixtures. I would not be entering blindly before kick-off, but if both teams contribute and the pressure is real, this could become one of the better late-goal or after-goal trading matches.

Qatar v Switzerland 🟢

This looks more controlled and cautious. The better angle may be phase unders if the game starts slowly, rather than chasing goals.

Mexico v South Africa ⚖️

The opening game is one to watch carefully. Host-nation openers can be emotional and cagey, so I would rather let the early minutes show the rhythm before making a decision.

Canada v Bosnia ⚖️

This looks more like a low-event watch than a goals game. If it starts quietly, phase unders are more interesting than overs.

Germany v Curaçao ⚖️

Germany are strong favourites, but that does not automatically make it a good trading game. The danger is a one-sided match where Germany control the game and the opponent offers little going forward.

Brazil v Morocco 🔴/⚖️

This is a quality match, but not necessarily a simple trading setup. Morocco may make it awkward, so patience is important. It could become more interesting after the first goal.

My Broad View

The best overall live watch is:

🟢 Netherlands v Japan

The best cautious/phase-under watches are:

🟢 Qatar v Switzerland
⚖️ Mexico v South Africa
⚖️ Canada v Bosnia

The two games where I would be most careful about being pulled in by the team names are:

⚖️ Germany v Curaçao
🔴 Brazil v Morocco

Final Thought

The first round is about discipline. World Cup games can look tempting before kick-off, but the best trades usually come from waiting for the match to confirm the read.

Each game needs updating with weather and team news closer to each match.

For me, the strongest approach is:

Watch first. Trade second. Do not force the first move.
